Job Summary:

We have an immediate opening in our Valencia, CA office for an IT Project Management Analyst to work in our Project Management Office. The IT Project Management Analyst serves as the liaison between the Project Management Office, business units, and IT regarding the implementation of company-wide/enterprise projects. This position provides project management support to the Project Manager. The applicant must have strong communication, customer service, troubleshooting, and organizational skills and the ability to complete assigned work with minimal instruction and supervision.

Key Job Responsibilities:

·         Generates business process/workflow-related documentation regarding the creation and updating of procedures aimed at improving process and coordination between departments

·         Translates business requirements into detailed functional specifications; contribute to the 'look' and 'feel' of the product including screen design, on-line text, and/or graphical user interface (GUI) consistent with company standards

·         Instrumental in quality control, rollouts and training for Enterprise applications

·         Negotiates scope, scale, and rescaling of assigned work; creates and executes acceptance tests and documents results while assisting the entire organization throughout the product development cycle

·         Provides technical solutions for moderately complex system issues, changes and tasks

·         Develops alternative solutions for assigned projects/tasks focusing primarily on application usability and user friendliness

·         Brainstorms with developers to determine what questions to ask user community so that business needs are clear and to determine what alternatives are feasible

·         Writes technical specifications for fixes, changes and enhancements once preferred solution has been identified

·         Ensures that specification details are clear and concise so that programming can be completed with minimal changes

·         Expected to define ancillary systems/pieces affected by proposed changes (UI, backend, interface, task manager, etc.) and have a working knowledge of the system architecture so that there is no adverse impact

·         Supports the project from creation to implementation ensuring that project/tasks have been completed successfully

·         Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules

·         Facilitates effective team interaction; acknowledges and appreciates each team member's contributions; generates enthusiasm among team members; ability to train, lead and mentor those with less experience through informal channels

·         Communicates, verbally and in writing, with a variety of areas (IT development, IT operations, business users, management and vendor services, etc.) for the purpose of gathering information, determining problem sources, analyze resolution options and finding technical solutions; understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully

·         Assists with miscellaneous projects as assigned by IT management  

 

Experience/Qualifications/Education:

·         BS in Computer Science/Computer Information Systems or equivalent degree/experience is required

·         Experience working in a Project Management Office (PMO) is required

·         Experience with an ERP implementation is highly desirable

·         Experience with Agile/iterative development methodologies is preferred

·         A minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management analyst role; well versed in project management activities and business process management

·         Proven track record of identifying and implementing new or revised processes and technical solutions as an outcome of their own analysis and associated work product

·         Must be knowledgeable in all phases of a project management life cycle

·         Proficient in MS Project and Visio software

·         Experience utilizing systems analysis tools including Microsoft Project, Visio, JIRA and Smartsheet

·         Exemplary organizational skills, exceptionally high standards to written and oral communication and meticulous attention to detail; strong analytical and presentation skills; high level of professionalism, tact and diplomacy

·         Able to work from own initiative and can work with minimal supervision; able to manage multiple project tasks and changing priorities

·         Ability to elicit information, negotiates conclusions and work under strict deadlines
