Who We Are

We are Owen, Patterson & Owen, LLP, the largest personal injury firm in Valencia, California. We handle cases across the state of California, including but not limited to those arising from motor vehicle accidents, slip- and/or trip-and-falls, dog bites, and mass torts such as the Aliso Viejo Gas Leak. We have recovered over hundreds of millions of dollars for our clients, and we are looking to continue that work with our current and future clients. We are looking for a proactive and motivated individual that is interested in joining our team as an Office Manager. The ideal candidate wants to help people, is attentive to details, and has experience with working in a fast-paced environment. Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

o Job Title: Office Manager

o Type of Position: Full Time

o Hours: 8:30am–5:30pm, Monday through Friday

· Job Duties/Responsibilities

o Contribute to growth of firm business

o Coordinate and attend marketing meetings, including management of advertising budget

o Coordinate all firm celebrations and functions

o Arrange attorney travel and appointments

o Work with IT provider to ensure security and compliance

o Handle staff payroll and benefits

o Balance workload among staff

o Supervise staff, including performance evaluations, merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary action

o Manage 401(k) plan

o Handle the purchasing/leasing of office equipment and technology

o Review payables to determine cost effectiveness

o Knowledge of IRS reporting requirements

o Confirmation of accuracy and State Bar-compliance with client trust account

o Add to and update employee manual with office policies, procedures, and best practices

o Train staff on office policies, procedures, and best practices

o Maintain best practices and consistency among all employees and departments

o Review resumes and interview prospective employees


To fulfill those essential job duties and responsibilities, we are looking for someone with the following:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills (required)

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office, such as Word, Outlook, Teams, etc. (required)

· Ability and openness to learning how to use new technology/software (required)

· Experience (minimum of 2 years) working in the legal field (required)

· Proficiency in accounting and business operations (required)

· Experience working at a personal injury law firm (preferred)

· Experience working as part of a fast-paced team (preferred)
