Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry

                                                    Outreach Coordinator 

The Outreach Coordinator position is a part-time position, (16-20 hours per week – 8:00a-12:30p Mon-Thurs – and occasional other days as needed).  The Outreach Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director of the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry.


The duties of
The Outreach Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  •  Serves as a liaison to the community, outreach site managers, senior citizen clients and other organizations for this program

 

  • Responsible for execution of all aspects the Outreach Mobile Distribution, including:

  • research and set up (once approved) of expanded site locations

 

  • institution and maintenance of outreach delivery at pre-scheduled sites

  • delivery and distribution at each site monthly

    responsibility for client database entry and synchronization prior to and after each distribution

  • Manages all aspects of the Outreach operations at Pantry site, including:

    recruitment, coordination, training and management of all volunteers

     

  • inventory and suggested purchase of food items for the program

  • pre-prep for outreach site distribution

    • preparation of food lists for inclusion in monthly senior bags

    • coordination of the prep of client bags for each site distribution

    • loading and unloading of truck

    • Other duties as needed


Experience/Skills

  • High School diploma required: associates degree preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in an office environment and dealing with the public preferably with a nonprofit organization.   Good understanding of general office practices and filing systems

  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication, organizational and administrative skills and the ability to work independently
     

  • Working knowledge of and experience with personal computers and general office equipment is required

  • Ability to drive delivery truck (cube truck) and lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Flexibility and good sense of humor

  • Clean driving record

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) preferred
