Job Description

We are looking for a high energy, highly motivated and capable applicant who will work three-four days/approximately 20 hours per week as Support Staff /Instructor in Training in our Ready to Work! vocational training program. Must be eager to learn, work well under pressure and deal with a fast paced and changing environment. We are looking for someone who is looking to grow in the position and take on more responsibility as time goes on.

Located in Agua Dulce, Carousel Ranch’s Ready to Work! program is dedicated to providing vocational training for young adults with special needs. You should be prepared to assist RTW instructors in effectively teaching students with well-planned curriculum, lesson plans and teaching materials. Vocational training is a real-world solution that prepares students for skilled positions and better prepares them for the workforce.

Job details will include, assisting the vocational educator with both in-class and outside activities; this includes helping students put together resumes, practicing for interviews, outside activities ranging from ranch work, vehicle washing, construction projects, and other job experiences. There are offsite workdays incorporating work based learning in the community for our students.

Hours during the week will vary during the week depending on the classes you are scheduled to work in. Saturday hours are generally from 8:30-2:00 and occasional hours based on events, etc.

Job Requirements

· Experience in working with adults with special needs.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and ability to work within website platforms.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

· Must have ability to work in an outdoor environment, in all types of weather.

· Willing to learn and follow Carousel Ranch’s procedures.

· Willing to complete background check and DOJ fingerprinting/Live Scan and CPR certification and Health Check (including TB test).
